School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Program (SWPBS)

SWPBS assists schools to improve social, emotional, behavioural and academic outcomes for children and young people. When SWPBS is implemented well, teachers and students have more time to focus on relationships and classroom instruction. SCPS has a  SWPBS silver rating and we are currently working towards gold.  A full copy of the Parent Guide can be found here.

SWPBS is infused through our school values of being respectful, being responsible and being resilient.  These behaviours are explicity adressed during wellbeing sessions and displayed in the Matrix of Expectations. The students are awarded tokens when they display these behaviours in and out of the classroom which result in Bronze, Silver and Gold level certificates awarded at Assemblies.

A whole school reward is awarded to the students when a number of tokens have been achieved.  This reward is selected by the students and is a highlight for the students.  Some of the rewards recently voted for has been a school disco, colour run, teacher swap and a games day.
