Principal - Averil Moore
Assistant Principal - Anne Robinson
Anne Robinson has been at Southern Cross for nineteen years and has taught in grades 1,2 and 5. There have been
many changes during this time but she has always enjoyed working with our multi-cultural students. She is at present
working as an Assistant Principal and loves her time at Southern Cross.
Business Manager - Sue Jones
Sue has been Business Manager in charge of the school's finanaces for nearly two years and part of a caring Office team.
Since coming to Southern Cross she has become a member of an enthusiastic and caring staff and school community.
Office Manager - Kaye Schendzielorz
Our Office Manager, Kaye has worked a total of 21 years at Southern Cross. Kaye enjoys the contact of students,
staff and school community and the variety and uniqueness of her job, in that no two days are ever the same.
Office/Education Support/Integration - Rhonda Smith
Rhonda has worked here for the past two years with all year levels. Rhonda also works in our school Library and Office.
She enjoys her time in the library sharing her passion for reading with our students.
Grade 5/6 - Justin Thompson
Justin has been teaching at Southern Cross for the past 4 years. He currently holds the position of leading teacher and has been heavily involved with Restorative Justice and TRIBES. He is a keen Richmond Supporter and can't wait to see the Tigers win their 11th Premiership.
Grade 5/6 - Fiona Hobson
Grade 5/6 - Andree Rodwell
Andree Rodwell has taught at Southern Cross Primary School for sixteen years, teaching across all grade levels. Her focus is
on Literacy, Administration and Public Speaking. She has been a member of School Council for six years and believes it is
vital to contribute to policy development and work with parents and staff members in the Council.
Grade 3/4 - Kristina Krikas
Grade 3/4 - Jerome Gardiner
Jerome Albert Ernest Gardiner started at Southern Cross Primary School in 2003. He has taught grades 3,4,5 and 6 and enjoyed them all. He teaches the Junior and Senior Bands at the school, and often plays at other primary schools in Victoria, which he really enjoys.
Grade 3/4 - Angeline Singh
Angeline has been teaching at Southern Cross for about 4 years. At present she is a grade 3 and 4 teacher. She
organises the Community Cultures Group meetings and all related activities at the school. Mums and dads from
various cultural backgrounds come together and share valuable insights that benefit our students and the school
in general.
Grade 1/2 - Pam Crawford
Pam Crawford has been at Southern Cross since 2001 and during this time she has taught in grades 1, 2, 5 and 6.
At present she is greatly enjoying the opportunity to work with our delightful year 1 and 2 students.
Grade 1/2 - Sarah Caslake
As the newest member of the teaching team, she is delighted to be a part of Southern Cross. She is a graduate teacher
and previously worked in Geelong. She brings to the team her creativity of the Arts and a positive attitude.
Prep - Jennifer Graham
Jennifer started working at Southern Cross in July 1999 as a short term replacement for the Art Teacher. She remained
in that position for another three years. After that she returned to the classroom and has taught at every level from prep
to grade 6.
Education Support/Literacy - Lisa McKenna
Lisa McKenna worked at Southern Cross 12 years ago and returned in 2008. Lisa works with prep, grade 1 and grade 2 students
assisting with reading, comprehension and developing literacy skills.
Education Support/Integration - Kathryn Robinson
Kathryn is a past student of Southern Cross and has been working here for the past 5 years across all year levels.
Kathryn also works in our school Library and runs the Breakfast and Homework Club program, she also takes all
school activity photos.
Education Support/Integration - Kim Smith
Kim has worked at Southern Cross for the past two years, working with all year levels. Kim also works in our school library
and runs the Breakfast and Homework Club program. Kim is currently studying a Bachelor of Education at University.
Sport/French - Andrew Altube
IT/Music - Ruth Cameron
Ruth Cameron has been at Southern Cross since the start of Term 3. Ruth has helped implement, develop and run
a new Music and ICT program throughout all year levels. Previously Ruth was teaching Prep in Saigon, Vietnam.
Grade 5/6 Voice/Rhythm Development - Denise Smith
Denise started at Southern Cross at the beginning of the year. A live performer for over 30 years,
she is very excited about sharing her love and passion of singing, music and rhythm with the year 5/6 students.
She has also put together and leads the 'Southern Cross Choir'.
